Swedish-made AEB-L contains 12.8 % chromium and has excellent toughness, edge retention, workability, ease of sharpening and ease of polishing. The AEB-L steel is mechanically forged to the softer 304 steel to produce the raw material for the blade. The final blade has been finished, heat-treated and tempered before being etched with ferric chloride to bring out the pattern.
