Benchmade H&K BM14200 Folding Lock Knife Benchmade Knives
Ambidexterous axis lock - one-handed opening and closing
The patented 'Axis Lock' is a hardened steel bar positioned accross the handle liners just behind and below the blade pivot pin. The bar is kept in contact with the blade tang by two omega shaped springs. With the blade fully open the blade tang is securely wedged in place. To unlock and close the blade the bar is simply moved slightly bacwards with the thumb, while gently moving the blade forwards with the index finger. This can be done while holding the knife in either hand, in conveniently ambidexterous operation. With the blade closed, the bar sits in a notch in the front of the blade tang and holds the blade closed.
